On Tuesday’s Fresh Cup of Inspiration free coaching call we discussed how to accelerate success through collaboration. This sounds so intuitive, especially since women are natural collaborators, that it is surprising how often women entrepreneurs over look this avenue to success.

Women business owners easily network, share ideas, and are often willing to work together forming strategic alliances. They enjoy the process of collaboration and cherish the friendships that often results from these efforts. So why does all that change as soon as money is attached to these activities? Why are women business owners so uncomfortable with monetized collaboration that they are often hesitant to take part in what could well be the fastest path cash?

Where is the reset button when you need one?

Sometimes life plays wicked little tricks on us and we get “frozen” in a pattern of behaviors that keep us stuck right where we do not want to be and at the same time we are unable to move forward towards our own goals. At times like these what we need is a reset button to get us back to a positive state where we can begin to move forward again.

Are we there yet?

What parent has not heard their child or children utter these four words while traveling? It is always especially humorous when it is uttered shortly after leaving the house in eager anticipation of the event that awaits at the intended destination. Traveling with children can be a challenge as it requires advance planning to provide adequate entertainment, snacks, the much required sanity breaks, plus a means to expend pent-up energy and enthusiasm in order to endure the next segment of being strapped into a seat for several hours.

Working with customers is similar to traveling with children, especially if the work involved requires a trans-formative change to occur in order for the customer to arrive at the intended destination.

Best Friends Forever

In my life, I am blessed with an amazingly supportive spouse, family and very good friends. It is through their involvement in my life, that I am able to juggle the demands of being an entrepreneur, community volunteer and advocate, with the responsibilities and joys of running a house and caring for a family. Valentine’s Day brought that message home in special way this year.

Amidst the busy pace of my husband’s and my businesses, along with my daughter having back-to-back dance competitions, plus my volunteer efforts, making Valentine’s Day a special event seemed highly unlikely this year.
